Southeastern North Carolina offers premier golf communities for all levels of golfers. Whether you are an amature just getting into the game or a well seasoned golf enthusiast, there are courses that suit these and everyone in between.  Wilmington has both private and public communities that include various styles of homes along their prestigious golf courses, along with other desirable amenities.

 

Landfall – One of the most popular private golf clubs in the area is Landfall.  With 45 holes of champion golf designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus, the golf experience doesn’t get any  better than this. Winding amind the tall pines, and along the marshes and intracoastal waterway, there are plenty of spectacular views for a relaxing day of golf.  Private lessons, clinics, and tournaments are available for members, along with multiple driving ranges. Lots along the golf course are available starting the mid $200,000’s.  Single family homes along the golf course start at $500,000 ranging up into the multi-millions.  All homes along the 29 miles of private neighborhood streets start in the $400,000’s with a wide range of luxury homes.

 

Brunswick Forest – Named the “#11 Best Course You Can Play in NC” by Golfweek Magazine Brunswick Forest is great for beginners and avid golfers.  The 18 hole premium golf course designed by Tim Cate is nestled in the forest, surrounded by lakes and neverending greenery.  Serving both residents, and the public, an afternoon on this bermuda and bent grass course is never a disappointment. Lots along the golf course in Brunswick Forest begin around $180,000 and homes along the golf course begin at $600,000, custom or move in ready.  However, a home within the Brunswick Forest community can be purchased starting in the mid to upper $200ks..

 

Compass Pointe – Designed in 2016 by Rick Robbins, Compass Pointe golf course is the newest in the area.  Located in Leland, it was named #8 on the “Top Courses in North Carolina” by Golf Advisor.  The 18 hole course has one last 19th hole to settle wagers or end on a high note.  The golf community also has an 18 hole putting course to excel at chipping and putting, along with a driving range for practice.  Build a home with golf right out your back door by purchasing a lot along the golf course starting around $135,00; and already built single family homes along the golf course start around $450,000. Porters Neck Plantation & Country Club–  Within the gated community of Porters Neck Country Club is the par-72 golf course suitable for all levels of golfers. Tom Fazio designed this private course in 1991 throughout the gorgeous green forests of Porters Neck.  The 18 hole course on bermuda and bent grass and practice facilities are open to members year round. Own a home along the golf course for between $550,000 and $800,000. Or live in a home within the community starting at $300,000.

 

Magnolia Greens- This community contains 27 holes, divided between three courses of nine holes each.  The courses designed by Tom Jackson and Rick Robbins have been venues for PGA tours and USGA qualifying events.  The three courses can be played in countless different 18 hole combinations. This Leland course is open to the public as well as the magnolia green residents. Purchase a lot along the golf course starting in the $70,000’s and build your dream home; or purchase a single family home along the golf course starting in the upper $200,000’s. Masonboro Country Club

Located with The Cape neighborhood, the Masonboro Golf Club is a semi-private club offering 18 holes on bermuda grass.  Designed in 2009 by Bob Moore, the course is appropriate for all levels of players. Homes within The Cape at Masonboro Country Club range from $200,000 for cute single family homes to over $500,000 for homes along the golf course.

Pine Valley Country Club-  Nestled among the pine trees, this 18 hole private championship golf course provides a family oriented atmosphere.  Designed in 1965, this course has been a long standing gem of Wilmington. The Country Club offers tee sets for children, allowing them to golf as short a round as 2,208 yards.
